Detention Explanation

Detention Explanation from Mr. Allred
The Parent-Student Handbook, 2011-12 version, went out electronically last week.  We will give student a hard copy in about a week when the books are ready.  The uniform, and the expectations on how it is worn, are the same over the years: tucked in, skirt, skorts, and shorts at the knee, modesty and appropriate messages on free dress days, best dress on Thursdays, etc.  Students may be late for class three times in a quarter without penalty.

At SJCHS, like our sister Catholic schools in the Diocese, we have 3 levels of penalty for student misbehavior.  We begin with verbal corrections and warnings for the minor issues, and these penalties are numerically FAR the most common.  When those fail, we assign detention (this year).  In serious cases of misbehavior, including excessive minor infractions, the penalty is the question of continued enrollment at SJCHS. We expect students to demonstrate by their actions that they want to be part of this community.  Please open the attachment for the rest of this information.
